WOW!! That is all I can say about these amazing biscuits! This recipe is from Joanna Gaines Magnolia Table cookbook and I was beyond happy with how they turned out. They were crispy and had a great crunch on the outside while still being soft and fluffy on the inside. If you get a chance to make these I do not think you will be disappointed!
Ingredients:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 3/4 tsp cream of tartar
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1 1/4 cups buttermilk
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
- In a large bowl combine flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and cream of tartar.
- Using a pastry blender (I didn’t have one so I just used a fork) cut in the butter until you have course crumbs.
- Make a well in the middle of the flour mixture and pour in the buttermilk.
- Using a fork mix the ingredients until combined and until the dough holds together.
- Press dough out on a floured surface to about a half inch thick.
- Using a biscuit cutter (I used a drinking glass with a round edge), cut dough into 12 biscuits and place on a parchment lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-14 minutes or until golden brown on top.
- Let cool for a few minutes before enjoying!
